Mount Whitney is the highest mountain in the contiguous United States and the Sierra Nevada, with an elevation of 14,505 feet.
It’s the end point of the Lowest to Highest Route through Death Valley.

The peak lies within the John Muir Wilderness and the Sequoia National Park Wilderness and is also the southern terminus of the John Muir Trail.
